Collapsing Factory

  • The room is still collapsing around us
    • There are pillars that hold the room up that are beginning to crumble and crash down
    • The machine which contained OSIRIS plummeted through the floor through a circular hole carved by the Pyramid. The hole doesn’t seem to have an end, but OSIRIS is definitely down there
    • There’s an exit which leads to the rest of the factory
  • Cal contemplates going after OSIRIS — the rest of the party is vehemently against it
    • As we argue, Jon has to pull a Jenga block
  • Camille says that we need to go, and turns to leave

Escaping the Factory

  • For every character turn, we have to pull a block from a Jenga tower
  • WE HAVE TO ROLL INITIATIVE

Round 1

  • Round 1

    • Vallen
      • Grabs Cal by the shoulder and teleports 30 ft. towards the exit
      • Cal throws up IMMEDIATELY
    • Kaya
      • Runs 50 ft. out the door, waves to Cal and Vallen as she passes them
    • Camille
      • Runs 40 ft. past Cal and Vallen
      • Tells Vallen that they have to get out of here, but they won’t let him go down again — claps him on the shoulder and casts Warding Bond on him
    • Cordelia
      • Runs and dashes
    • Cal
      • Runs and dashes
    • Julian
      • Runs and dashes (running next to Cordelia!)
    • Retcon: Everyone is able to use their movement and action to dash except for Camille, since they cast a spell (they are falling behind)
  • We begin sprinting out of the cavern, and we see a ladder leading up to the factory area

    • As we get to a certain spot, the ENTIRE mineshaft crumbles behind us — there’s no turning back.

Round 3

  • We find ourselves in a small room
    • There’s a staircase in front of us at the end of the hallway
    • To our right, we see the entire factory floor. It is full of warforged. Pillars of steel are falling and crushing several tens of them
    • They all see us
    • Perception check:
      • Cordelia, Kaya, Camille, and Vallen notice that all the warforged have VERY RED EYES. They have a smoky hue to them
    • THE WARFORGED SEE US AND START SPRINTING
  • We start sprinting up the stairs
    • Camille falls behind, using their action to cast Haste on Julian. They tell him to take care of Cordelia and to pick her up, if need be
    • Cordelia gets scooped up by Julian!! She’s now being fireman carried by him
  • The stairs go up, with a sharp right-angle turn before going up again
  • Those in the front and back (Kaya and Camille) have to roll DEX saves
    • As Kaya is sprinting, her quick reflexes (DEX save 21) save her as a steel beam falls through the stairwell, almost hitting her.
    • Camille (DEX save 14) hears the metal clanking of warforged feet behind them. They turn to look, and one of the warforged jumps forward to grab them BUT THEY MISS!!! CAMILLE DODGES OUT OF THE WAY 🗣️📢‼️
  • Marching Order
    • Julian is almost caught up to Kaya (who is at the very front)
    • Cal is with Vallen in the middle of the pack
    • Camille is at the back of the pack, roughly 70 ft. away from Kaya (everyone sees them almost get fucking NABBED by the warforged)

Round 4

  • Vallen

    • Does a cool acrobatics slide underneath the metal beam, and keeps running
    • So far, things look pretty normal up ahead
  • Camille

    • As they’re running up the stairs, they feel a hand grab their shoulder AS VALLEN TELEPORTS THEM AHEAD. BLESS THE LORD!!!
    • They consider casting Gust of Wind, but decide against it and just grab Vallen and keep running
  • Cordelia

    • Continues to be held by Julian
    • BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING AND IS BEING HELD, SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO PULL A BLOCK FROM THE JENGA TOWER!!!
  • Cal

    • FRONT FLIPS over the metal beam and KEEPS RUNNING
    • Acrobatics for the front flip (24) (IT LOOKS SICK) (I think he also flips off the warforged)
  • Julian

    • Still carrying Cordelia
    • Awkwardly maneuvers his way through the metal beam with Cordelia still on his shoulder

Round 5

  • Vallen
    • Grabs Camille by the wrist and teleports with them through the steel beam barricade
  • Kaya
    • Sees that the stairs continue upwards. At the top, there’s a huge, empty workspace. At the end of the workspace are stairs that lead up to OSIRIS’s actual room. She also sees the way to where we initially came in
  • Camille
    • Uses their Channel Divinity: Safe Passage to move Vallen 60 ft. forward
    • Casts Misty Step and uses their movement to move (70 ft. forward)
    • They call back to Vallen and say that they thought he’d be much farther ahead of them
  • Cordelia
    • Sees Vallen and Camille a little ways ahead of her
    • Continues to be carried by Julian
  • Cal
    • Tells the gang to keep running, he’ll hold the warforged back. Then he turns, sees the World War Z scene behind him, and fucking BOOKS IT IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!!
    • Kaya sees him sprint from the back of the pack to the very front 💀
    • Looks around for any of Foo’s doors (22 Perception)
      • Doesn’t see any of the types of doors he’s looking for
      • BUT he sees the door to OSIRIS’s office area - on the second floor overlooking the workspace - IS open
    • Cal considers going towards the office
      • It’s roughly 100 ft. from the entrance to the room to the end of the hallway, then 60 ft. up the stairs
      • If he uses his movement to go towards the office on the second floor, he will have 40 ft. left until the stairs
    • He ultimately decides against it, and uses the rest of his turn/movement to look for an exit
  • Julian
    • Still Hasted. He sprints up the stairs, and meets with Kaya
      • They have a brief conversation of where to go and what Cal’s doing
    • He sprints towards the exit

Round 6

  • Vallen
    • Currently 10 ft. behind Camille
    • EVERYONE HAS TO ROLL A DEX SAVE
      • EVERYONE BUT CAL PASSES
      • The entire area, floor and all, begins to shake as soon as the warforged break through the barricade. Cal falls prone.
    • Moves 10 ft., then teleports 40 ft. to the top of the stairs. Is now next to Kaya
  • Kaya
    • Turns and sprints towards the exit
  • Camille
    • Casts Gust of Wind on the warforged following us, creating a 60 ft. column of wind that the warforged must push through to get to us (STR save for those who start their turn in the wind, movement is halved through the wind)
      • 2/3rds of the warforged are pushed back
      • This drops Haste, and Julian collapses to the floor as lethargy hits him. He drops Cordelia, and now they are both prone.
    • Uses 40 ft. of movement to get up the stairs
  • Cordelia
    • Uses half her movement to get up
    • Tries to make a STR check (18!) to drag Julian (“Come on, love!“)
  • Cal
    • Dashes towards the exit (reaches the 60 ft. of stairs leading to the tunnel where we came in)
  • Julian
    • Still stunned

Round 7

  • Vallen
    • Sprints, makes it all the way to the middle of the room
  • Kaya
    • Sprints towards the exit
  • Camille
    • Movement + dash (80 ft. total)
    • Has 30 ft. of movement left as they catch up with the folks at the front
  • Cordelia
    • Still dragging Julian at half movement
  • Cal
    • What he sees:
      • As he turns the corner at the end of the hallway, he sees a sea of red eyes at the end of the hallway
      • Beyond the red eyes floating in the distance, he sees the stairs leading out
      • The hallway is a T-style hallway, with warforged at the end of one path and a staircase at the other end
    • TAKES OFF TOWARDS THE EYES/STAIRS OUT
      • Kaya and Camille use their remaining movement to follow Cal
      • The moment Cal takes a step, the warforged at the end of the hallway surge towards us
      • Cal runs in the opposite direction of the warforged, towards a set of stairs
  • Julian
    • Snaps out of it, scoops Cordelia up, and sprints
    • Sees the sea of red eyes, turns around, and sprints in the OPPOSITE direction

Round 8

  • Vallen
    • Grabs Camille by the wrist again, teleports them and himself 120 ft., past the warforged and to the base of the stairs
    • At the bottom of the stairs, they see it go upwards and turn, blocking their vision
  • Kaya
    • Runs, gets to the base of the stairs
  • Camille
    • Sprints 80 ft. forwards, rounds the corner. They reach a platform. Large room (kinda like downstairs). Roughly 100 ft. away, they see a LARGE set of double doors which look like the entry way to the factory
  • Cordelia
    • Still being held by Julian
  • Cal
    • Keeps running (dash + movement). He makes it to the base of the stairs, and makes it roughly a third of the way up.
  • Julian
    • Makes it (almost) all the way down the hallway!
    • Cordelia looks over Julian’s shoulder, and realizes that the sea of warforged behind us seems to be getting closer

Round 9

  • Vallen
    • Grabs Cal, teleports himself and Cal up the stairs to where Camille is
  • Kaya
    • Sees the original swarm of warforged smash into the new one — the impact pushes the front line forward, which is why the sea of warforged seems to be getting closer, faster.
    • Makes it to the top of the stairs and sees the exit
  • Camille
    • Moves their full movement (40 ft.)
    • Holds their action so that if the building begins to fall, then they will use their Channel Divinity: Safe Passage on the person closest to them
    • THE TOWER FALLS ON MY TURN (MY BAD GANG) (IT STAYED UP FOR A SOLID FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT FELL)
  • THE BUILDING CONTINUES TO COLLAPSE
    • WHERE WE’RE AT
      • Kaya is roughly 30 ft. into the final room, Camille is 40 ft. into the room.
      • Cordelia and Julian are at the base of the stairs leading to the final room
      • Cal and Vallen are at the entrance of the final room
    • We sprint up the stairs, making it up to the final room. Then the middle of the floor gives way.
      • A piece of the ceiling falls, breaking through the floor. There is now a 50-ft. gap between us and the door.
      • It is now dead quiet
      • Cordelia and Julian hear the warforged getting awfully close
  • Cordelia
    • Continues being carried by Julian
  • Cal
    • Holding his turn
  • Julian
    • Reaches the rest of the gang at the top

Crossing the Gap

  • Camille casts Gust of Wind to give the rest of the gang a boost across the canyon
  • Cal uses Shadowstep to automatically surpass the canyon
  • Kaya jumps across the canyon
    • Camille holds their action to use Channel Divinity: Safe Passage on her in case she falls
    • KAYA DOES A FLIP!! (it’s a sick spinning front flip)
    • Athletics: 15
    • SHE STICKS THE LANDING!!!
  • Cordelia tries to jump across (Julian tags along with her)
    • Athletics: 9
    • She trips as she’s about to jump into the pit
    • JULIAN ROLLED A NAT 20!!! HE’S ABLE TO GRAB HER BY THE HAND AND JUMPS ACROSS WITH HER!!!! 🗣️📢‼️
    • DEX check (10): She tumbles and rolls on the other side, but still makes it!!
  • Camille uses their bonus action to move the direction of Gust of Wind towards the warforged coming up the stairs
    • THEY DO SO AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MINUTE
  • Vallen grabs Camille’s shoulder and teleports the two of them across
  • A card - The Sun - floats out of Cordelia’s Tarot Cards. She instinctually grabs it and throws it
    • The card transforms into a ball of fire (fireball), riding on the wind as it hits the sea of warforged surging towards us.
  • The ground where we stood on the original side of the canyon collapses, and we feel the floor begin to shake

The City Crumbles

  • We open the big oak doors to see that nearly every single home - rather the entire town is collapsing around us
    • As we walk out, the townsfolk see us walking out and run past us, holding bags and the hands of their children.
    • Behind us, the entire factory building collapses behind us.
  • Camille mentions that we were supposed to meet Nera, but says that we should help the people in this town first
    • Cal agrees
  • Cal and Cordelia see Nera run up to us
    • She asks us what happened to us
    • Cordelia tells her that nothing good happened, Camille tells her that “they expected us”
    • Nera says that her team/people will take care of evacuating the townsfolk, and that we should go with her
      • Cordelia looks around to see if anyone’s ACTUALLY helping the townsfolk
      • As opposed to the small team of 4 that we saw the previous night, she sees at least 12 people - all wearing the Clover insignia - helping townsfolk escape in the immediate area

In the Safehouse

  • We run up to the safehouse, and Nera takes us inside
    • Roughly half of the building has shifted down a little, so there is a foot-tall gap in the roof and the floor inside/stairs leading up to the door are shifted to the side
  • Inside, the same four people from last night are rushing around
    • Most are hurriedly writing down plans and maps, and another is putting things in chests
  • We briefly tell Nera what happened (OSIRIS knew we were coming, “someone else showed up”, and the Pyramid is now INSIDE OSIRIS)
    • She tells us that we will debrief with The Keeper
  • Nera walks a little ways away, before tearing a tapestry off the wall. Behind it is one of Foo’s doors.
    • She says that she heard that we have a key to use on this door — we do
    • She tells us to meet The Keeper in the Capital (we can have our meetings elsewhere, but that’s her preference), and as we leave, wishes us luck

Returning to the Capital

  • Passing through the door, we arrive at the Barracks
    • Things seem calm on the surface, but we can feel the tension in the air (the vibes are off)
  • Simon the desk clerk sees us, waving and gesturing for us to go towards the stairs
  • Taking the elevator up to The Keeper’s office, we debrief a little
    • Camille says that it’s good that we’re all alive — Cordelia is still collecting her thoughts, saying that so much happened within just a minute
    • Camille asks the gang if they recognized the woman in green. There’s not a clear answer.
  • Reaching the Keeper’s quarters, we see Ozwin standing outside, jotting something down in a notebook. He’s immersed in his writing and doesn’t notice us yet
    • Kaya tries to sneak up on him to peek over his shoulder. He notices Kaya without even looking up 😭
    • He mentions that reports from Iron Forge say that we put on “quite the show”
    • Camille theorizes that OSIRIS might not have known exactly what happened, but that someone told him
      • We tell Ozwin about Loki
      • Cordelia mentions that Loki is well-known as the God of Lies. Camille is like “👁️👁️ she’s the god of what now .”
  • Ozwin tells us that he won’t be debriefing with us - it’ll be with The Keeper - as much as he would like to be the one to do it
    • Camille’s like “damn that sucks. we like you tho :] ”
    • Cordelia tells him to keep up the good work as she passes
    • Cal pats him on the back just a LITTLE too hard as he passes
    • Kaya considers patting him on the back even harder, but decides against it

Speaking to the Keeper

  • Walking into V’s office, we see him pondering the Orb and working away on paperwork. Documents are scattered all over his desk.
  • V already knows about the fact that Iron Forge is “half the city it was yesterday”. He wants to hear our story first
    • Camille offers to let him read their mind, even though V is initially like “yeah I can read minds but that’s intrusive”
  • V asks why Julian’s here — and asks about our full story from when we left the Capital
    • In the interest of protecting her fiancée, Cordelia tells V the whole story EXCEPT FOR:
      • Julian’s doubts about Clover
      • Julian’s having dreams and visions
    • Cordelia talks for like half an hour telling V our story (SHE INSISTS THAT WE DIDN’T START ANY FIRES) (despite the fact that she LITERALLY CAST FIREBALL)
  • We cap off our recap by telling V that the Pyramid has been integrated into OSIRIS’s chest, and that he’s somewhere deep underground now
  • The Keeper asks if Julian truly left his post because he was worried for Cordelia’s health
    • She lies and says yes, and that he IS in fact her fiancée (Deception 16)
  • The Keeper says that if we will lie about our story, then he won’t tell us the full truth about the Orb or why he’s pondering it so hard
    • CJ SAYS “FUNGUSSY”
    • V asks us why should we have reason to distrust him — he appeals to Camille, saying that they have a good memory and that they should tell him when he’s lied to them (they and Cordelia make a History check, but neither can remember a time when he’s lied to them)
  • THE KEEPER ASKS IF WE LIKE THE NAME “THE SEEKERS”
    • Camille mentions that Loki
  • V says that he will let us have our drinks — we shouldn’t worry about the fate of Diamond or Clover immediately, and we should head home, shop, and/or rest
  • V says that Vallen will be sent to us after he keeps him behind to read his mind to get the true story
    • Camille begins to protest, but V doesn’t feel comfortable reading their mind
    • Camille tries to look at Vallen to see if he’s ok with this, and he seems chill. Just Very Very tired.
  • The rest of the day passes as we go about resting and doing our own thing (we can tell CJ what we do between sessions)

WE LEVEL UP TO LEVEL 7!!!
