  • We have two more days of travel until we reach Nexus (specifically one of the ports)

Two Days of Travel

Quén takes care of business

  • Quén talks to everyone on the ship during short one-on-ones, asking if they’re truly okay with going to Nexus and if they want to back out
    • As they talk to more and more people, they get the ever-growing sense that even if someone wanted to go, where would they even go?

Talking to Foo

  • Foo is at the bar (as always)
  • Quén asks Foo if he’s able to take people back to Hillford with him
    • He can’t :( He can return, but can only travel by himself — he mentions that he should go back to check up on the town anyways
    • Foo is revealed to be an artificer! (100% makes sense, but I think this is the first time it’s said in explicit terms)
    • The Teleport spell would be perfect for Quén’s purposes, but Foo doesn’t have access to it. Their best bet would be Ozwin
  • Quén pulls out A KNIFE (the axio steel knife)
    • They ask Foo to prick his finger with it. He’s frightened and confused but does it (thank u king)
    • Nothing happens 🤩 Foo is officially not a changeling!
  • Quén leaves to talk to Ozwin

Talking to Ozwin (LILY NOTES FTW)

  • Quén meets up with Ozwin; he is at his desk doing silver fox stuff.
  • He’s deadass making lists of gods and trying to figure out their connection? Why the fuck is he doing that?
    • He expresses that he would like to get this solved before they get to Nexus.
    • Quén passive insights the vibe (23): he is just stressed about all this bs.
  • Quén asks him about any gods of time, specifically a woman
    • Ozwin expresses the gods are generally genderless, and that he hasn’t but he will keep an eye out for one
    • Ozwin also notes that there’s the god of travel - Avandra - and a male god of time, but neither of these fit the bill
  • Quén pulls out a fucking knife. Asks Ozwin to prick his finger.
    • Ozwin is, understandably, scared asf. Izzie rolls low on Insight, made apparent by his noises of anguish. (thank u Lily for documenting this)
  • Ozwin deduces that the blade is (the special steel) (axio steel)

The Father’s Reveal

  • “OZWIN” SAYS “I THOUGHT ID HAVE MORE TIME WITH THIS”
  • He snaps the dagger in two and squeezes the naked blade in his hand. He slowly changes back to Amadeus.
    • “You really are growing as a party — I’m surprised it took you this long.” And tosses the blade behind himself.
    • (Side note; before this happened, Delia felt the absolute worst pit in her stomach as she shuffled her cards and pulled Judgement)
  • The Father snaps his fingers, summoning the rest of the party into the room. They’re all sat in individual chairs.
    • “How nice of you to join us, surely you could’ve guessed.” As he shape changes back to Ozwin. Delia is DEVASTATED.
  • The Father says to Quén “It is time: Drop everything and bring me Ihys.”
  • Quén moves to leave, and as they do, their right hand twitches towards their waist, where the silhouette of a gun holster sits beneath their cloak.
    • Quén moves robotically towards Vallen’s room, having no control of their body.
    • When they knock he answers. All they can do is hold out their hand in silence. HE TAKES IT :((
    • VALLEN STOP TRUSTING THEM SO MUCH 😭😭😭
    • Bro’s like “Are you okay? Where are we going??” and Quén literally CAN’T SAY ANYTHING! I HATE IT HERE!!! (bro’s heavy breathing bcs they’re UPSET and CAN’T CONTROL THEIR BODY but Vallen more or less assumes that they’re just having another menty b 💀)
  • When the door to Ozwin’s room opens again, time stops and Vallen freezes in place
  • Quén is told “Now drop everything.”
    • Quén shakes their bag of holding upside-down, dropping all their belongings including all pieces of the shapes
    • The Father picks up one of the lead boxes, commenting on how it’s “cute”
  • The Father connects all pieces of the shapes, pulling out the remaining pieces of the Pyramid and Orb from his pockets
    • He thanks us for leading us to FAFO, and says that the “cute” warforged encampment is now gone
    • THIS IS SO FUCKED UP!! I’M GONNA KILL MYSELF (⇐ Izzie, not Lily)
  • “Lets take a little field trip, shall we?”
    • We hear screams coming from above as we feel the ship lurch downward
    • We look out the window of Ozwin’s room, and we see the clouds move downwards past us
  • The Father says that “this ride” will get a little bumpy, and time stops in the room
    • The Father addresses Cal, telling him that - as someone who enjoys destruction - might like to watch his ship explode
  • We get teleported into a temple in the middle of a desert, with The Crown on a pedestal in front of us

The Father used the Shapes to summon the Crown

  • We look up, and see the Fogstrider in the sky. It begins to plummet
    • Quén reaches out, knowing that they have the powers of time in their blood. They try to use their divinity to reverse the ship’s fall or do ANYTHING to stop it
    • Izzie uses a d20 token, but rolls a nat 1
    • Nothing happens.
      • NOTE: Apparently if Izzie had gotten a nat 20, the ship would’ve floated safely to the ground. I HATE IT HERE
    • The ship hits the ground, fracturing into a thousand pieces.
  • The Father says that he’s been waiting for this moment for a long time, saying that there’s nothing we can do now. Our friends are all dead, and we have nowhere else to go.
  • The Father looks at Quén, thanking them for bringing him Ihys. He reaches down to where Vallen is laying on the ground, and grabs him by the throat, lifting him up.

MONOLOGUE:

“You have all outlived the shadows I’ve kept you in, just like V outlived his purpose as Keeper.”

“You do not realize the trouble I went through to get the Tarot user, the world shaper, and two future minor gods in one single repulsive tiny insignificant bar…”

“And you’re probably wondering how long has he been Ozwin? … Since Long before you knew him. I took the face of that useless worm and set the Orb in V’s path to start his obsession with finding the Seekers, I then used a useless pawn to lure you into the entrance of the Underdark, gaining your intrigue, then Using the Pyramid to send you nightmares until you were forced to become Seekers.”

“But now you get to witness the way this world was meant to be. The way I DESIGNED it to be…”

  • The Father asks us if we have any final words, and releases our silence.
    • Quén: “I have no blood on my hands, and I never want to kill. But I want your body to be the only one at my feet, and I want your blood to be the only blood on my hands.”
      • The Father asks them how they feel saying that to someone wearing their father’s face. In response, they say “I want to kill you, Amadeus.”
      • The Father laughs, his hands shaking. He tells Quén not to call him that, and launches into a monologue
    • Cal spits on The Father

MONOLOGUE:

“Names are interesting, aren’t they? Dax, Quén, Camille, Cordelia, Calvin, Kaya, Meril, Vallen, Ihys.”

“Names allow you to gain one’s attention, names hold power over another, names are interesting when used correctly. But you do not know my name? You believe me to be your father but your father DIED long ago. Poor soul, my name is not Amadeus… My names are many, maybe you’ll recognize a few:

Belezabub, Bahumut, Satanus, Lucifer, the King of Hell, Father of Lies. You wish to know MY name? I AM ASMODEUS! And you all have outlived your purpose here.”

  • The Father snaps his fingers(?) and Cordelia splits diagonally down her torso, turning inside out as her organs spill onto the floor in an instant. She collapses, dead.
  • The Father laughs (evilly) and - holding the Crown - says:

“HAHAHA finally! I wish to end the seal on Hell itself!

  • Quén - around this time - vanishes, leaving no trace. Their body stretches and splits into multiple images - past, present, and future - before all the disparate images collapse in on each other and they disappear.
  • Vallen - still being held aloft by The Father’s hand on his neck - reaches out and grabs the Crown while The Father is distracted, making his own wish:

"And I wish you to be rid of you!"

  • When Vallen speaks his wish aloud, The Father smiles.
    • Just like Quén, his body stretches and splits into visions of his past, present, and future before they collapse into a single point, and he disappears.
    • The Crown clatters to the ground.
    • Vallen also falls to the ground, unconscious.
      • REMEMBER, HE’S A VAMPIRE. HE CAN’T SLEEP OR GO UNCONSCIOUS!!!
    • When The Father disappears, so do the Shapes
  • Erin Thorne and Thraxxus appear shortly after The Father vanishes, taking the manacled Kaya and Cal away with them.
    • When Thraxxus pulls up, he’s carrying something: Kaya’s mother’s - Aratish’s - head
